Our care for your child at Tiny Friends and the support is number one. Hi, my name is Diana Wright. I began Tiny Friends licensed Daycare in 1996 in Nanaimo. Tiny Friends is a safe and loving environment where children have fun while learning, and have wonderful memories and friendships. Our days are filled with crafts, games, baking, music, circle time, group activities, and free play. We are located on 2.5 country acres just off Jingle Pot Road in Nanaimo. My assistant, Carmen, is here during the day to provide added safety and attention for the children.
At Tiny Friends, we support children to become friends and work to learn and play together. We listen to the child when they are afraid to do something or feel bad about not being able to learn. We will always communicate with the parents about things which concern us or the great and wonderful things their child has done.
A private blog where Parents can view latest activities, ask questions, check for updates and news at Tiny Friends, or submit a post will be available soon.
Also coming soon is a large photo communication cemtre where photos at Tiny Friends will be posted and parents will have access to post photos.
Since we work with your child and you, and with other parents and children, we become friends and work as a team. This benefits all.
Photos and meetings with former Tiny Friends children who have grown up now will be posted soon.
I have always loved being with children and from a very early age I knew that I wanted to work in the child care field. When I had my own two children, who are now young adults, I decided to open my daycare. I took the necessary courses and opened my Licensed Family Day Care in 1996. As well as the experience I have gained through the years, I continue to further my training by attending workshops and programs each year. While our days are structured, children will learn through free play and I encourage them to use their imagination. It is very important that children feel loved and comfortable while in my care and make themselves at home. Children want to have fun and learn. One of the greatest rewards is that an adult, who as a child was cared for at Tiny Friends, comes back to visit and talks about all the things they loved about my daycare and the good memories. I am very happy I am able to do what I love most as a career, and to work each day to provide the best care for your child when they are away from you.
Carmen's daycare caregiver career began 2012. Carmen has a real passion to work with children. She began working at Tiny Friends this year and loves to be able to give the care she wants to to the children at Tiny Friends. Carmen is very compassionate towards childrens feelings and listens to them when they have hurt feelings. She loves to shere laughter and giggles with the children and the children are comfortable they have a friend like Carmen they trust to share their feelings with.
Carmen loves the outdoors and likes to go camping or go for a walk sometimes just to see the beautiful world she lives in. She loves to draw and maybe someday she will be able to put down on paper or canvas what she sees when she is outdoors. Carmen loves to travel and to see new places. Carmen is a strong asset to the care which is given at Tiny Friends Daycare.
Our workspace is a place where everyone loves being together. The space is open and bright inside. There is play and learning areas. There is fresh air time every day for caregivers and children.
Some days we leave Tiny Friend and we attend community events and visit locations which allow children to have physical exercise and learn to work together.
